Egypt Book of Mystery at 999bet — a mysterious slot set in ancient Egypt
Egypt Book of Mystery by PG Soft is a reward-filled video slot that combines ancient Egyptian imagery, a free spin bonus, and special symbols into a distinctive slot experience. This guide covers the game's reel layout, betting options, strategy, and common mistakes in detail.
What kind of slot this is
Egypt Book of Mystery is a themed video slot from PG Soft, where ancient Egyptian pyramids, hieroglyphic writing, deity symbols, and pharaonic heritage are directly reflected in the game's visuals and symbols. PG Soft is well known for producing slots for the Asia-Pacific market — they are the creator of many popular games including Fortune Tiger and Mahjong Ways.
The game is arranged across 5 reels and 3 rows, with a total of 10 fixed paylines. The reel background features an Egyptian temple design, and the symbols include the Ankh, the pharaoh's crown, the Eye of Horus, the golden falcon, and various gemstones. The colour scheme is deep gold and blue; the overall design is fictional but drawn from the style of historical Egyptian art.
The game's maximum win can generally reach several hundred times the base bet, and when the free spin feature is active, the multiplier continues to grow. Like other PG Soft games in this slots section, it features smooth animations and a mobile-first interface.
What happens in a single spin
Setting your bet
Before spinning, set your bet amount using the bar at the bottom of the screen. There are usually multiple steps available from minimum to maximum. The higher the bet, the larger the potential win — but losses increase at the same rate.
Forming a win
A win occurs when identical symbols line up consecutively from left to right on a fixed payline across the 5 reels. At least 3 matching symbols on a payline trigger a payout. Scatter symbols pay out regardless of which reel they land on.
Bonus round
Landing 3 or more scatter symbols together triggers the free spin bonus round. Respins or multiplier increases may occur during this round. Wild symbols also become more active during the bonus round, working across multiple paylines at once.
Wild symbol
The wild (usually the Eye of Horus symbol) substitutes for any regular symbol to increase winning chances. It acts as a replacement for all symbols except the scatter.
High-value symbols
The golden falcon and the pharaoh's mask are the highest-paying symbols in the game. Landing 5 of either across a payline gives the highest base-game prize. The lower-value symbols are gemstone images.
Maximum win
The game's maximum prize can reach several hundred times the base bet. The more the multiplier grows during the free spin round, the greater the chance of a large win — but this is only a possibility, not a guaranteed outcome.
Who is it suited for
Egypt Book of Mystery is known as a medium-to-high volatility slot. Volatility refers to how frequently wins come and how large each win is. In a high-volatility game, wins may be infrequent over a long period, but when a big win does come, the amount tends to be comparatively large.
For players with a small budget, this game is best suited to those who play with a set session limit rather than extended sessions. Players who are patient and can wait for the bonus round tend to get more out of this game. If you want quick results in a short session, a lower-volatility slot is a better fit.
On the other hand, players who want to experience a themed adventure with bonus features will find this game particularly appealing. Bangladeshi players who are interested in the Egyptian theme enjoy the game's animations and sound design. This game is easily found in the 999bet casino section.
Useful tips to know before you play
-
Start in demo mode: 999bet may offer the option to play this game in demo mode without real money. Use demo mode to get a proper understanding of the game's features, paylines, and bonus round before playing for real. This makes it easier to decide before placing real money bets.
-
Set a session budget: Before each session, decide on a specific amount you are prepared to lose. Once that amount is gone, stopping the session is the sensible choice. Continuing to play without a budget can quickly get out of hand.
-
Follow your stop limit: A stop limit means stopping at a set point whether you are winning or losing. Stopping when you are ahead rather than chasing more, and not continuing to play to recover losses — both of these are healthy habits.
-
Choose your bet size carefully: In a high-volatility game, placing large bets carries the risk of your balance running out quickly. It is better not to place more than 2%–5% of your balance on a single spin. This keeps you in the game long enough to reach the bonus round.
-
Set a time limit for your session: Playing for a long stretch at once reduces focus and increases the tendency to make decisions driven by emotion. Decide in advance how long you will play — keeping to a time limit keeps the session in check.

Key points to remember
Common misconceptions to avoid
"If I haven't won in a long time, a big win must be coming now"
This is one of the biggest misconceptions. In a slot game, every spin's outcome is determined by a Random Number Generator (RNG) — the result of the previous spin has no connection to the next one. The game does not pay out what it "owes". Every spin is completely independent.
"Betting more at once brings more bonus triggers"
Increasing the bet amount raises the potential win, but it does not increase the likelihood of the bonus round triggering. The probability of scatter symbols landing does not depend on the bet size — it is controlled by the RNG.
"If I place a bigger bet to cover my losses, I'll get it back quickly"
Placing larger bets to recover lost money is extremely risky. This tendency is called "loss chasing" — it rapidly increases the amount lost. When you are losing, stopping the session is the only right course of action.
"You win more by playing in the morning or at night"
A slot's RNG has no connection to the time of day, server load, or any other external factor. The statistical probability of every spin remains the same at any time.
How it differs from other slots
The slots section at 999bet includes various types of games — some run on Megaways mechanics (such as Bonanza Megaways or Extra Chilli Megaways), some are classic 3-reel games, and others use cascading reels or cluster pay systems. Egypt Book of Mystery stands apart because it uses the traditional 5-reel, 3-row structure with fixed paylines — which is comparatively straightforward for new players to understand.
In cluster-pay slots like Gates of Olympus or Sweet Bonanza, there is no payline concept — a win occurs when a cluster of symbols matches from any direction. In Egypt Book of Mystery the rule is to match from left to right on specific lines, so the game's reward structure is clearer.
Other popular PG Soft games like Mahjong Ways or Wild Bandito use a ways-to-win system — where wins are possible through thousands of combinations instead of paylines. Because Egypt Book of Mystery uses a payline-based structure, it is easier to follow what is happening on each spin. To see the full 999bet slots collection, visit the slots page.
